Kings Cliffe Active
KC Active is a sports and recreation complex set on a 12-acre site in the Northamptonshire village of Kings Cliffe. It has two full-sized grass football pitches, a floodlit 3G all-weather multi-use games area (MUGA), floodlit tennis and netball courts, play areas with equipment and a pavilion with changing facilities plus a sizeable community or function room with kitchen and bathroom facilities. It is operated as a charity and funded solely by grants and income for hiring the facilities, with all profits put back into maintenance and improvements for its users. Getting here is easy, with pedestrian access from both the east and west. And, if we’re too far to walk, we also have a huge free car park.
Football Pitches
Kings Cliffe United FC has made KC Active its permanent home after 90 years of playing in farmers’ fields and shared pitches. The club runs many teams starting with under 6’s.
We have two grass pitches each 100m x 64m (minimum size for level 6 football). Hiring a pitch includes marking out, goal posts and use of changing facilities. But the pitches are not just for football. Other sports and activities can be accommodated.
MUGA (3G)
The Multi Use Games Area, or 3G, is a well maintained 60m x 40m floodlit all-weather area that can accommodate football, hockey, fitness training and a wide range of other sport and fitness activities. Bookings available in hourly slots.
Kings Cliffe FC run junior and senior coaching regularly throughout the week and are always looking for new members. The facilities are also used by other local clubs.
Tennis Courts
Three state of the art tennis courts were built in 2018. Nets are well maintained and the playing surface is excellent.
Kings Cliffe Tennis Club is very active with free play and coaching sessions available for all abilities. The courts are available to hire for all users with discounts for club members.
Netball Courts
Two state of the art floodlit netball courts were built in 2018. Nets are well maintained and the playing surface is excellent.
We have hosted a number of successful netball tournaments at the facility and have a team, Cliffe Ladies, operating from the centre who play in a number of local leagues.
Café
The Active Café opened in 2022.

1st Sunday of the month March-October 8:30AM-1PM inline with our monthly Farmers Market.
We are always on the look out for volunteers to support our opening hours, please get in touch if this is something you would like to do.
The café is not just a café! It is used for a wide variety of activities including Karate, Art groups, baby and toddler groups, youth clubs, parties and meetings to name a few! Book ‘community room (lower)’ below.
Pavilion
The pavilion building includes the underfloor-heated community room, equipped kitchen, changing facilities, storage and toilets.
The function room has hosted a broad range of activities including dance and fitness classes, a toddler playgroup, the Old Blokes Club, cycling training and the local Rainbows group. It has a maximum capacity of 45. The Kings Cliffe Gardening Association and Heritage Society were among the first to recognise that the KC Active community room in the pavilion was a great place to hold a meeting.
Play Area
Children and young people need space to let off steam and play. KC Active offers all the space they need and lots of equipment. There is a playground for young children and the OurSpace area for older kids and young people which was significantly upgraded in 2019.
OurSpace includes swings, climbing equipment, an aerial rope slide, outdoor table tennis and picnic tables.
Outdoor Space
KC Active is a great place to hold an active party or a picnic. Why not book the community room and combine indoor and outdoor activities.
The large car park can be hired for car boot sales, etc. Please give us a call if you’re interested.
Gym
State of the art gym with PAYG or membership options available.

Events
With the success of Cliffe Fest in 2019, a village fete and festival combined, we are now renting the facility out for events such as parties, weddings, fundraisers, sports events and celebrations.

Trustees
KC Active is a charitable organisation. The ‘parent’ legal entity is Kings Cliffe and Area Community Sports Project (KC & ACSP) Ltd. It is run by a group of local volunteer trustees.

Why are we here?
KC Active is for you, people of all ages in rural East Northants. It is a local initiative to meet the needs for sports, healthy living and community facilities not only for Kings Cliffe but also for the surrounding villages and hamlets and their communities.
